Best Kept Labs Lavish Ashton

This sweet boy comes from our friends at Lavish Labs in California. Like Best Kept Labs, Lavish Labs believes in health testing their breeding fur family. Their high standards rival even the best of the Standard Color (Black, Yellow, Chocolate) breeders out there. We are proud to call Lavish Labs our friends and mentors in our quest for improving the genetic health of our beloved Labrador Retriever.

A very SPECIAL FACT about our sweet Ashton: He and his brother are offspring of TWO CONFORMATION CHAMPIONS!

Although Ashe’s coat color is not allowed in the conformation ring he has already started his career earning Performance Titles in AKC.

  • At just over 6 months of age he earned his very first AKC Title in Dock Diving. This boy LOVES the water! He now holds three NADD/AKC Dock Diving Titles!
    DN-Dock Novice
  • DS-Dock Senior
  • DM-Dock Master
  • He also earned an invitation to the 2016 AKC/NADD/EUKANUBA National Championships

Meet Ashe & His Accomplishments

Dock Diving Titles require FIVE QUALIFYING SCORES. Here he is with myself and the judge Dee Bramble at Over Rover Training Center in CATO, NY

Ashe's Health Testing Results

The Best Kept Labs Kennel is pleased to announce ASHE has successfully completed the last of our required tests. He is 100% clear of both Paw Print Genetics Labrador Panels, CERF (eyes) Normal, OFA Hips-EXCELLENT and Elbows-Normal, PennHip Score: 90%

Because of the health testing practices of Lavish Labs, we know already that Ashe is clear of the following diseases: EIC, DM, CNM, Cysturnia, PRA/PRCD
See our Labrador Panel page for further explanation of the diseases above.

And the additional coat issues of: K Locus (Splash) gene, Long Coat
So what does this mean? Because neither of his parents are “CARRIERS” of these genes, neither is Ashe. He cannot pass on what he has not inherited from his parents.

Because of how important health testing is at Best Kept Labs we still did both genetic Labrador Panels by Paw Print Genetics. We are so excited to report that Ashe is 100% clear for all of the diseases on these panels.

Molecular genetic analysis was performed for specific mutations of 15 genes reported to be associated with disease in dogs. We identified two normal copies of the DNA sequences in the genes tested.

No mutations were identified. Thus, this dog is not at an increased risk for the diseases caused by or associated with the mutations tested. Normal results do not exclude inherited mutations not tested in these or other genes that may cause medical problems or may be passed on to offspring. Paw Print Genetics™ has genetic counseling available to you at no additional charge to answer any questions about these test results, their implications and potential outcomes in breeding this dog.

Normal results do not exclude inherited mutations not tested in these or other genes that may cause medical problems or may be passed on to offspring. These tests were developed and their performance determined by Paw Print Genetics™. This laboratory has established and verified the tests’ accuracy and precision. Because all tests performed are DNA-based, rare genomic variations may interfere with the performance of some tests producing false results. If you think these results are in error, please contact the laboratory immediately for further evaluation.
